On April 9th of 2012, Next Up Anaheim was proud to have special guests from Axion Footwear! Manny Santiago, Vitor Borger and Jeff Lenoce came out to skate and hang out with everyone. Everyone skated a lot and had a lot of fun, the kids got some free stuff, and the guys signed some autographs as well! It was a great day for everyone and a great start to our Spring here at Next Up. A big thanks to Mark Brandstetter from Axion and Manny, Jeff and Vitor as well! We hope to see you guys again soon!
On March 7th Kenny Hoyle, Chany Jeanguenin, Taylor Mcclung and even Kelly Hart came out on crutches to Next Up Santa Ana at the Boys & Girls Club/Sierra Preparatory Academy branch. It was a day full of skateboarding and fun, just as much for our guests as for the kids! Kenny, Chany, TayTay and Kelly were so polite and nice to all the kids. They gave out lots of autographs, some T-shirts, stickers and decks to the kids and delivered a bunch of tricks as well. We are very thankful for Matt Daughters and the whole Expedition One team coming out and making this awesomeness happen!

Wrapping up 2011, earlier this Holiday season, a select group of kids from Next Up Foundation had the very special privilege of skating at The Berrics skatepark in Los Angeles! This exclusive, private park is a dream destination of any skater, and the kids at Next Up were very happy to have to chance to go there. Santa Claus also made a guest appearance to skate, hand out some presents, and spread Christmas cheer throughout the session. Everyone had fun skating and was honored just to be there. A huge thanks to Steve Berra, Kevin Fernley from the Berrics, and also Josh Friedberg for filming our session! Happy New Year everyone!

Earlier this summer, Amateur skaters Felipe Gustavo and Gustavo Malagoli came out one afternoon to skate and hang out at Next Up. They both had a fun session with the kids and even though it was a very hot day in Anaheim they both still came through with some amazing skating! It was a great day all around despite the heat everyone stayed positive and had a fun time hanging out. A big thanks to both Gustavo and Felipe for coming out and supporting the cause!

Earlier this summer, Next Up had the pleasure of having three amazing professional skaters come visit the program. Rodrigo TX and Adelmo Jr. came with Brazilian pro Rodrigo Leal to skate and hang out with the kids. All three Pros skated and did some great back-to-back tricks which made for a very fun session. The kids had a great time seeing some legendary skaters and some amazing skating. Special thanks to Adelmo and both the Rodrigo’s for coming out and showing their support!
On March 15th Next Up Foundation had the honor of having professional skater Ronson Lambert as it’s special guest. Our kids were very impressed and happy with his performance. Unfortunately, Ronson’s session at Next Up was cut short when he broke his board, because it was his only one. In tough times like these, even amazing skaters like Ronson have trouble finding sponsors. The skate industry should take notice of this talented individual’s struggle and hook him up with a solid board sponsor. Thanks for coming Ronson!
On Dec. 10th Next Up Foundation had the honor of having skateboard icon Fabian Alomar. Fabian also brought his good “Menace” friend Joey Suriel and the young Oscar Meza. Fabian and Oscar skated with our kids and both of them had a lot of fun! Fabian shared a little bit of his story, sponsors, beginning of companies such as Menace, City Stars…wrong choices, consequences… Our kids couldn’t even blink during Fabian’s speech. Fabian brought a huge positive message to our kids and made it clear how important our program is and his support to Next Up! Thanks for coming Fabian! We look forward to see you again!! We would like to thank GIRL, SK8MAFIA, DGK, WARNING SKATE SHOP for your boards donation! Our kids are gonna be stoked on it!
On Nov. 23rd we had the honor of having Billy Marks as our special guest. It was simply amazing, our kids were so hyped about his visit and nobody couldn’t stop skating. Billy brought his wife Ashly, his friend Tom and LRG team manager Tyrone also the people from Vitamin Water which was really cool! Everybody was drinking lots of Vitamin Water. From what we could see Billy, Tom and Tyrone were having a lot of fun skating with our kids. Billy landed a bunch of tricks as you guys can see on the pictures below. Next Up Foundation would like to thank Billy Marks and LRG team manager Tyrone for all the support! Thanks for coming guys, we appreciate your time!!
