Loveart& was invited by the Next Up Foundation to do a DIY t-shirt surface design workshop for the participants at their Santa Ana location at the Sierra Preparatory Academy/Boys&Girls Club. Next Up Foundation works with kids and teens in underserved communities providing guidance through skateboarding and supplying them with skate equipment, mentoring and supervision. The t-shirts for this workshop were generously donated by Punker Pat Towersey of Hurley. Using the fresh new Hurley tees, the kids hand-cut stencils and created thier own unique surface designs using tape and fabric paint. So easy and so rad!!

On April 9th of 2012, Next Up Anaheim was proud to have special guests from Axion Footwear! Manny Santiago, Vitor Borger and Jeff Lenoce came out to skate and hang out with everyone. Everyone skated a lot and had a lot of fun, the kids got some free stuff, and the guys signed some autographs as well! It was a great day for everyone and a great start to our Spring here at Next Up. A big thanks to Mark Brandstetter from Axion and Manny, Jeff and Vitor as well! We hope to see you guys again soon!

On March 7th Kenny Hoyle, Chany Jeanguenin, Taylor Mcclung and even Kelly Hart came out on crutches to Next Up Santa Ana at the Boys & Girls Club/Sierra Preparatory Academy branch. It was a day full of skateboarding and fun, just as much for our guests as for the kids! Kenny, Chany, TayTay and Kelly were so polite and nice to all the kids. They gave out lots of autographs, some T-shirts, stickers and decks to the kids and delivered a bunch of tricks as well. We are very thankful for Matt Daughters and the whole Expedition One team coming out and making this awesomeness happen!

After going through his own battles with drugs and losing his job and whole life because of it, Gabe changed his life for the better. Through the help of his family, he got clean and got his life back together, and wanted to share his story with the kids of Next Up. He showed the kids that you don’t have to come from a bad neighborhood to get caught up in a bad lifestyle, and that through programs like Next Up you can always reach out to someone, even if not your own family. Gabe came to Next Up of Anaheim and hung out, shared his story with the kids, skated with them, and we all had a fun day together! A huge thanks to Gabe for supporting Next Up and sharing his amazing story with us!

Next Up proudly presents Expedition One to kick off our brand new program in partnership with the Boys&Girls Club of Santa Ana  at Sierra Preparatory Academy. Chany Jeanguenin, Kenny Hoyle and Taylor Mcclung will be skating and mentoring our kids on Wednesday, March 7th.

Next Up Foundation in partnership with The Boys&Girls Club of Santa Ana, proudly announces skateboarding as extra-curricular activity for the kids at Sierra Intermediate School enrolled in the after-school programs, provided by The Boys&Girls Club of Santa Ana. We are very excited for this partnership and a huge thank you also to FreshPark for getting us the skatepark that we needed to bring skateboarding to these kids! Next Up is extremely happy to expand it’s skateboard program to this new location and would like to thank everyone involved that made this happen!
